An original watercolour painting in a naive style of the former UK offshore radio station "Radio Caroline" in a naive style.
Radio Caroline was launched off the coast of Suffolk on 28th March 1964, broadcasting from a Danish passenger ferry called the "MV Mi Amigo". It was a pirate radio station, created to circumvent record company control of popular music broadcasting in the United Kingdom and the BBC's radio broadcasting monopoly.
Unlicensed by any government for most of its early life, it never actually became illegal, although after the Marine Offences Act (1967) it became illegal for a British subject to associate with it.
