Original Gouache Paintings
Gouache painting is a more opaque version of watercolour painting. It is made in a similar way to watercolour, a powdered pigment mixed with a gum binder, but white chalk is also added to create brighter colours and a thicker paint. This means that gouache paint can often be more vibrant than watercolour because it is not as translucent and is regularly used for illustrations for this reason. Many watercolorists use gouache to highlight their paintings. White highlights on a watercolour painting are known as 'body colour.'
